Backgammon For Dummies - Backgammon books can be expensive. This one can be had for under $10 on eBay and is a great way to start learning some advanced play.
Backgammon Odyssey - A series of three books by the legendary Michihito Kageyama, otherwise known as Michy. Opening Concepts, Endgame Technique, and Back Checker Strategy.
Backgammon: Basics to Badass - Marc Olsen provides a concise and informative text that can help build your knowledge and skills up to intermediate or advanced play. A great book for beginners.
Backgammon: Strategic Concepts - Francois Tardieu provides phenomenal instruction and analysis of strategic checker play. This should absolutely be in your backgammon library.
Backgammon Masterclass - Masayuki “Mochy” Mochizuki and Marc Olsen co-author this book based on lectures they have presented at backgammon events. The sections by Mochy are especially good. The seminars can also be located online.
Backgammon - This is a classic, and still well-regarded, title by Paul Magriel. When this book was first published, it completely changed the game.
Backgammon Bootcamp - This book is essentially a collection of articles Walter Trice wrote for GammonVillage.com. It covers a wide variety of topics and delves into some heavier concepts in later chapters.
501 Essential Backgammon Problems - Bill Robertie created a book full of positional quizzes with explanations for reach one. You won't find a better bang for your buck.
Conquering Backgammon - This full-color book by Ed Rosenblum is packed with illustrations and explanations in an easy-to-follow layout.
